Payroll Specialist

Our client is seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist, to ensure the precision of their payroll services across Australia and New Zealand.

About the role

• Autonomously manage end-to-end payroll functions across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for weekly and monthly cycles.
• Accurately interpret Industrial Awards/Agreements and relevant legislation.
• Skilfully process all end-of-pay and end-of-month requirements, including general ledger reporting, reconciliations, payroll tax submission, and superannuation clearing house management.
• Ensure compliance with Australia and New Zealand legislative and statutory obligations through precise reporting and documentation.
• Warmly resolve payroll-related queries from across the organisation.
• Support the Financial Controller with payroll-related projects and local statutory reporting.

About you

• At least five years’ experience in a similar role within a multi-faceted business, adept at handling high-volume payroll tasks.
• Demonstrated excellent understanding of ATO legislation, industrial relations, Award interpretation, and payroll system architectural design.
• Strong analytical and numeracy skills, coupled with careful attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Proven experience with payroll systems like Payroll Metrics and Kronos is highly desirable.
• Possess full working rights in Australia.
